Beaurepaires Australia Launches Revolutionary New Tyre Servicing Capabilities for Commercial Fleets

May 2015

Beaurepaires Australia has launched revolutionary new Commercial fleet tyre servicing capabilities and technologies as part of its “Mobility Project,” which was unveiled at the Brisbane Truck Show on May 14–17. One of these new innovations includes the implementation of an Australian-first “Cost Per Kilometer” tyre reporting system, offering transparency and cost efficiencies for Commercial fleet businesses across the country.

The Beaurepaires Commercial retail network is committed to quality products and proven brands across its range, with a pledge to raise standards and provide a best-in-class customer service to Commercial tyre customers nationwide. To reinforce its ongoing leadership in tyre serving and ensure that it is exceeding evolving customer requirements, the division has invested in innovative new product and service offerings.

The innovations launched as part of the Beaurepaires Commercial Mobility Project include:

  • Mobile Service Trucks: A national upgrade program for approximately 200 service trucks to be fitted with the latest in modern technologies. This includes truck equipped GPS tracking and service scheduling, independent wireless hotspots for delivering real time telemetrics, and on board tyre changing and balancing capabilities.
  • Cents Per Kilometre Service: Real time ‘Cents Per Kilometre’ online tracking technology for customers. This is an Australian-first in the trucking industry that offers owners of fleets direct web portal access to their tyre operating costs.
  • Tablet based software solution: Replacing paper processes, the new tablet solution offers key task scheduling for optimised efficiencies, key procedural workflow checks, electronic data collection and tyre performance tracking that provides the foundations for significantly improved reporting capabilities.
  • Innovative new Commercial tyre and retread products: With the support of Goodyear’s global research and development, Beaurepaires Commercial network is introducing innovative new Commercial tyre and retread products that set the technology and performance standard for the industry in areas such as increased fuel efficiency durability and mileage.

Beaurepaires also showcased a range of fuel efficient tyre products at the Brisbane Truck Show, including Goodyear tyres featuring proprietary FuelMax Technology. This technology improves tyre rolling resistance and saves fuel, all while reducing the environmental impact of the vehicle by lowering emissions.

In addition to this, Goodyear concept tyres were on display for attendees, including the innovative Air Maintenance Technology (AMT), which helps enable tyres to remain inflated at the optimum pressure without the need for any external pumps or electronics. The potential benefits of such a system include improved fuel economy, reduced emissions, longer tyre life, and enhanced safety and performance. Goodyear announced in October 2014 that AMT for Commercial vehicles was being tested on U.S. trucking fleets over the next 18 months.
